Baked Dressing

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups water (less if bread not dried)
  • 1 Envelope chicken noodle soup
    OR 1 Tbsp. chicken base
  • ½ Cup butter
  • 1 Onion, chopped
    (or 1 pkg. onion soup mix)
  • 1 ½ Cups celery, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
  • 3 Quarts bread cubes
    (about 30 slices / 12 cups)

Instructions

Simmer water and soup for 5 minutes.
Melt butter, then add onions, celery, and poultry seasoning. Cook until tender.
Mix all ingredients together with the bread cubes.
Pack into a greased bread pan.
Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes, until browned and heated through.

Notes

Secret: Cut bread while frozen. Let it sit on a tea towel for 2 days to fully dry.
