Carmel Squares
Ingredients
Base
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Wh. Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp. Cocoa
- 1 ½ Cups Flour
Filling
- ¾ Cup Butter
- 1 ½ Cups Br. Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Syrup
- 4 Tbsp. Flour
- 1 can of eagle Brand Milk
Chocolate Icing
- ½ Cup Butter
- ¼ Cup Cocoa
- 1 Eggs
- 2 Cups Icing Sugar
Instructions
Cream butter, sugar, beaten eggs add flour, and cocoa (Sift together) Mix well. Put into an “11x15” cookie sheet. Raise sides somewhat for filling. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350F.
While base is baking, Cook the following in a double boiler. Cook until smooth (5minutes) then add 1 can of eagle Brand Milk. Spread over base and return to oven until bubbling (Like a pancake) for about 8 minutes or so.
Chocolate Icing: Melt together your butter and cocoa (Let cool), Then add your egg and icing sugar and mix. Spread over baked square.
