Toffee (Connie)
Ingredients
1 cup Heavy Cream
½ cup Cream
½ cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 cup Wh. Sugar
¾ cup Lily Wh. Corn Syrup
Dash Salt
½ tsp. Vanilla
2 tbsp. Butter
Instructions
In a heavy saucepan, mix ¾ cup of the cream mixture with sugar, syrup, and salt.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Cook to soft ball stage (234°F), stirring occasionally.
Very slowly add the rest of the cream so the syrup continues to boil.
Cook, stirring occasionally, to firm ball stage (244°F).
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter.
Place in a buttered pan.
